Creating an SMS Template

Login to your Kaleyra.io account and navigate to Verify → Templates and click on the 'Add Template' button.

  1. Select Channel - Choose SMS from the dropdown.
  2. Sender ID - Choose the right one from a list of approved sender IDs. If you see 'No Data' here, it means that you have no approved Sender IDs in your account.
  3. Template ID (Applicable only in India) - Add the unique template ID you have received while registering with DLT.
  4. Template Name: Choose a name that is between 3-40 characters.
  5. Template Content: Add the content of your SMS template and ensure you place the variable {OTP} at the position you require.

And click on 'Save'! Your template will now be sent to the Kaleyra Operations Team for review and approval. You can see the status of your template in the Verify → Templates page.

Check the reason for SMS template rejection

In case your template has been rejected, head to Channels → SMS →Manage →Configurations → Templates and click on the more button to view the reason for rejection.

The below guidelines apply only for customers in India:

  1. Customers in India, must comply to TRAI guidelines and register the templates with network operators on the DLT platform before using them. Refer to the FAQs on DLT registration to know more about the registration process.

  2. While submitting the template in DLT platform, pass the parameter as {#var#} and ensure you replace it with {OTP} while adding it on Kaleyra's Verify portal.

Create a Voice Template

Login to your Kaleyra.io account and navigate to Verify → Templates and click on the 'Add Template' button.

  1. Select Channel - Choose Voice from the dropdown.
  2. Language - Choose from a list the list of languages supported. This includes English, Italian, and Spanish. English (US) is selected by default.
  3. Speech Rate - Choose from a set of 6 speech rates depending on your requirement. 'Medium' is recommended by default.
  4. Template Name: Choose a name that is between 3-40 characters.
  5. Template Content: Add the content of your TTS (text-to-speech) template and ensure you place the variable {OTP} at the position you require.

And click on 'Save'! Your template will now be sent to the Kaleyra Operations Team for review and approval. You can see the status of your template on the Verify → Templates page.

Create an Email Template

Login to your Kaleyra.io account and navigate to Verify → Templates and click on the 'Add Template' button.

  1. Select Channel - Choose Email from the dropdown.
  2. From Email - Add the 'from address' for the email.
  3. Email Subject - Add the 'subject' to be set for the email.
  4. Template Name: Choose a name that is between 3-40 characters.
  5. Template Content: Add the content of your email template and ensure you place the variable {OTP} at the position you require.

And click on 'Save'! Your template will now be sent to the Kaleyra Operations Team for review and approval. You can see the status of your template on the Verify → Templates page.

Once your templates are approved, you can proceed to create a Verify Configuration.
